The Choice Is Yours 

PSALM 1:1-6
MIN. BENJAMIN F BUCKNER III 

1)THE CONTRASTING PATHS v1a, v2 

The bible is showing us that when we are walking down this road called Life, we have a choice to make on what we allow to influence our minds and that determines what path we take and continue on. 

The wicked path 

The wicked chooses to walk in the advice of other wicked people, ideas, and thoughts. The Blessed path
The blessed Man Chose not to walk in the counsel of the wicked,
but chose the word of God to Counsel him along his path. 

2) THE CONTRASTING PROGRESSION v1, v3a 

The wicked progression v1 

The writer is showing us the progression of movement from walking, standing, and sitting, also from the actions of being advised by the wicked to practicing sin, to mocking the Word of God. 

The Blessed Progression v3a 

The writer is using this imagery to show us that once we make the choice to walk on the Blessed path, we are given everything we need to Grow healthy and strong in the Lord. 

3) THE CONTRASTING PRODUCE v3b, v4-5 

On this path not only do we become like a tree, we become fruit bearing trees. But The path determines the fruit that is produced. Matthew 7:16-20 

The Blessed fruit .v3b 

God doesn’t plant trees for the sake of planting trees, he wants us to produce fruit for his kingdom, but the production must come in season, and God determines the seasons. 

The wicked Fruit v4-5 

The bible is saying that whatever the wicked produce is like chaff, it’s useless because anything produced outside of Gods will and plan will not stand in Gods court room in this life and in the next 

4) THE CONTRASTING PLACE v6 

We all have a destiny, we all are heading to one of two places, a place prepared for us or a place prepared for Satan and his demons. John 14:3, Matthew 25:41
