A TALE OF TWO CITIZENS

Prov 11:24-26

• GENEROUS AND THE GREEDY – v. 24

When people give generously, they receive a return on their investment. Giving is like investing in your 401k or your IRA.

You can almost guarantee OVER TIME that if you invest…you will make a profit! But if you don’t invest, you don’t make a profit.

When we give of our treasure to advance God’s work, God allows you to see your return on your investment.

Those who are generous in their time, talent, and treasure will be rewarded for the work that they do.

Luke 6:38; Prov 19:17; 1 Cor 3:8; 2 Tim 4:8a

GENEROUS GET MORE, GREEDY GET NOTHING.

• GENEROUS GET REFRESHED – v. 25

‘Generous soul’ - Hebrew literally means ‘the soul of blessing.’ A soul of blessing is someone who just can’t help but to give. 

• Those who bless others are blessed abundantly in return.
• The generous reap so much more than they sow.

Question: Why do I give? Answer - because Jesus gave to me. Question: Why do I give?  Answer - Jesus requires it! Lk 12:48b

Who are the Greedy? Those who are selfish and concerned about

COMFORT ZONE or their CONVENIENCE ZONE!

Mt 25:23; Acts 20:34-35 

• Greedy Get Reviled, Generous Get Revered – v. 26
• What kind of citizen are you today?
• What kind of citizen do you want to be remembered as?
• What kind of citizen do think God will reward you as? 

Good and Generous? Or Inconsistent, and Greedy? Gal 6:9
